Large Regency Landscape

This garden surrounded a grade II listed Georgian Hampshire house and included a tennis court, stream and large rectangular lawn, with a number of mature trees and shrubs.

My main garden design priorities were to incorporate a new swimming pool and pool house and to provide a new formal terrace by the house following renovations to the property, as well as introducing new screening for the front and tree planting. The property was in a conservation area with tree preservation orders in place, so the garden design had to take account of potential restrictions.

There was only one suitable site for the pool, which was some distance from the house. To create both a physical and visual link between the two the pool area was designed to be at the same height as the house terrace and a new path was created alongside the tennis court with a line of pleached trees  to screen the fence and take you down to the pool area.

A small vegetable garden was also included alongside the pool area.
